Coming to theaters this February is the new documentary I Am Bruce Lee. Featuring footage from the likes of The Big Boss, First of Fury, Way of the Dragon, Enter the Dragon and The Game of Death, the film delves into the life of Bruce Lee and his current legacy in both martial arts and entertainment. The piece also contains interviews with those who knew him most intimately, as well as a range of people from international boxing sensation Manny Pacquiao and Lakers star Kobe Bryant, to UFC’s Dana White and current Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones. The video catches up with each celebrity as they address the impact of the martial arts superstar and cultural icon on their own lives and psyche. Since its inception, there has been a close connection between a man and his pocket knife. If there’s one thing to draw from Stewart’s words, it’s that motocross is all about doing things that others say can’t be done.
To coincide with the London Olympics later this year, The Royal Mint has issued a new 50p coin which attempts to explains football’s offside rule. The coin is part of a set released to celebrate the Olympics, and designed with function in mind; to explain a rule which leaves so many people confused. The coin was designed by Neil Wolfson, who won the competition to design a coin which was sport related for the series. This is sure to be highly collectable.
Wednesday saw the official launch party of streetwear brand Weekend Offender’s shiny new Soho store. By 6.30pm D’arblay st was roadblocked and the free beer courtesy of BUD 66 and delicious bbq food from Bodeans both helped create a unique winter street party atmosphere. Despite it being freezing cold the event attracted a huge crowd of London’s finest urban scenesters from Fashion Editors, Stylists , Bloggers, Models and more . Guests included much hyped hip hop artist ‘ Mikill Pane’, the beautiful Sunday Girl, Pro Skateboarder and model Lucien Clarke, and the very eccentric man of the moment Prince Cassius. If the shop party wasn’t enough at 9pm the crowds were moved swiftly round the corner to Soho’s secret underground a-list haunt ‘St Moritz’Club. With BUD 66 still on tap the night continued late into the early hours with live performances from ‘Mikill Pane’ and DJ duo ‘Joe and Will Ask’ The store will showcase a wider, more diverse collection with limited editions, and exclusives such as the recent collaboration with Kingston kustoms who have created a series of bespoke fixed wheel racers.
